So with being in the Push Phase of ChaLEAN Extreme, I decided to change up the intervals workout from Burn Intervals to Extreme Intervals. What was it all about? Forty minutes with the stability ball...oy! The first five minutes was squats with that crazy ball - good grief! I was worn out in just the warm up. Overall, though, by the end of the workout I was thinking, "Huh...not sure if I like this one." But you know what, I think it's more about that first workout "getting to know you" mode instead of actually not liking the workout.
I had a couple of things working against me last night: 1) my new stability ball is either too small or it really needs more air - it was like sitting on a squishy ball. Ugh. 2) I spent so much focus on what I was doing instead of really pushing myself. This is why I LOVE knowing a workout - I don't have to think about the moves, and can push the intensity and really focus on form.
I'm not throwing in the towel on this workout. I am going to do it again next Tuesday for sure! I am going to make sure that silly ball is properly inflated, and if that still doesn't fix it, then I'll use my old stability ball that I KNOW is the right size. Next week is automatically going to be better because I already know what I'm going to be doing so I'm sure I'll have a new outlook on this workout next week.
So are there any things that you have given up on after your first try? Do you think you may have had a different opinion just by giving it a second chance?
