Q&A: Great Fitness Reads

Question of the day: Do you have favorite health journals or magazines that you read? I really enjoy Women's Health, and am planning to subscribe to Shape. I'm looking for other magazines that offer healthy recipes, especially. Any recommendations?

I have some real favorites when it comes to fitness and health magazines, and at the top of my list is Oxygen by Robert Kennedy publishing. It's geared toward really building a fit lifestyle. The fitness models they feature have some serious muscle (don't worry, not bulky muscle, but long and lean) that's pretty motivating. It's great to read an abs workout to get a six-pack, and see that the model demonstrating has a six-pack. This magazine also has some great recipes!

Another favorite is Clean Eating. This is a quarterly magazine that features good, clean recipes to have you operating at optimum levels. Ever thought of pumpkin oatmeal? I haven't tried it myself, but that's just an example of what you may find. And I can't forget to mention that they give a full month's meal plan of clean eating recipes. So if you're really looking for great healthy recipes, this is the magazine for you.

You mentioned Women's Health - and that's the other magazine that I subscribe to, and consistently renew. It has great tidbits and tips for pretty much all parts of life which is pretty fun. Shape and Fitness are good ones too, but I usually only grab those if I see a good article while waiting in line at the grocery store.
