Betcha Never Thought of This!

Okay, so maybe you are aware of the joy of a toaster oven, but I've only just been introduced to it's uses. Here's a confession: I've had a toaster oven sitting on my counter for a year, and it's not been used until this week. Up until now, that toaster oven has pretty much been a shelf where my bananas sit.

So if you have a toaster oven that's getting the same amount of use, it's time to realized that it can make some yummy meals and snacks in a lot less time than the regular oven. All it takes is a quick ten minutes on the toast setting to have some lightly cooked vegetables. So far I've tried it with zucchini, and I was pleasantly surprised with the final product. I drizzled a teaspoon of olive oil, and sprinkled some Mrs. Dash Garlic Herb spice on top. Yum!

Another idea I've read about is to try marinating salmon or chicken and then baking it in your toaster oven. And of course, pizza made from a whole-grain tortilla, tomato sauce, vegetables, and reduced-fat cheese. I haven't tried these ones yet, but I will soon for sure. If you beat me to it, let me know how it all tastes!

Happy Friday!

Oh, I'm intrigued! I wonder how it would do with apple slices. Like "toast" some apple slices then drizzle honey or just some cinnamon. Apple pie without all that other stuff!
