Lifesaver!

My life saver of the week: my new Spenco Polysorb Total Support Insoles

So my shin splints have really been bothering me the last few weeks. Aargh! I tried everything - writing the alphabet in the air with my toes, doing toe raises to strengthen the front of my calves, going low impact to keep the jarring from hurting me, but nothing was working. Every workout left my shins throbbing, and a fear in the back of my mind that my stress fractures were coming back after ten years. I put my focus on my form, and trying to keep my knees soft while jumping, but still no relief.

On a whim, I stopped at the mall at Lady Foot Locker to check out their insole selection. I had one pair of insoles from Spenco that were mostly added cushion, and I knew they had other options. I ended up leaving with the Total Support Insoles, and put them in my shoes as soon as I could. And guess what? Today was the first day in a couple of months that my legs weren't throbbing at the end of the workout. Just goes to show how important it is to support your arches.

If you are having foot or leg pain that just won't quit, try different strengthening exercises and stretching, and look at your form. What are you doing that might be causing the pain? No luck there? Look to your shoes! And of course, consult your doctor if that pain continues and you just can't find any relief.

As always, keep pushing play!
