Negative Input

There is a lot of negative talk out there, and it's hard not to listen to it. You eat unhealthy foods, stop exercising and gain weight - you get a negative response from your doctors, and your pants. Granted that's a helpful negative response, but what about the flip side? You start making healthy food choices, working out and losing weight, and then you start getting negative jabs from random people. I think they're jealous negative jabs, but come on!

Here's what happened to me today:
While sitting at work, just minding my own business, I decided it was time for a snack. So I pulled my apple and almonds out of my bag, and thought, "Yay me!" Then this woman in the building walks by me, and says, "Look at you eating your apple! Where's your donut? You should be having a donut instead - ya know, all slathered up in butter. Yeah, you need a donut." Are you kidding me? What in the world is up with that?! Now let's reverse it - say I was eating that donut all slathered up in butter, do you think she would dream of saying I should be eating an apple instead? Good grief, it's hard enough to tune out my own negative self talk.

What kind of negative talk do you have coming at you? What do you do to ignore it?
