Okay people, the biggest take away I got out of last night's Personal Trainer Class is the importance of THE WARM-UP! No, it's not just for show, and it most definitely is NOT a waste of time. How would you like to burn more calories in your workout? How would you like to lift more weight during your strength training? Well, then do the warm-up. It's that easy. It's the best 5-10 minutes you'll spend exercising - you'll be able to work harder and longer during your workout than if you just jump right to the hard part. Also, as you go through your warm-up, you are waking up your muscles and getting more motor units (the nerves that make your muscles do the work) ready to go so when you pick up those weights, you can go heavier. Hello! I know I'm never skipping a warm-up ever again.
