Welcome to the Truthful Thursday! I have a confession: my three weeks of training here in San Diego have not been so great for my fit life. My pants are a little tight today. I've been trying, but l've been giving in to the excuses. Let's see, what are some of the most popular ones: "I'm too tired" after a long day in the salvage yard in the hot sun, and "I have so much to study" since we have had tests every single day. But you know what - you just can't be too busy to do something good for yourself. Find the time. If you can't find it, make it.
My biggest problem has been not being able to fit in the workouts I'm used to with this crazy training schedule. The available time just hasn't been there. I'm kind of stubborn so I wasn't looking at how I could find a middle ground - I was going to make it work which ended up as my downfall. In retrospect, I should have been realistic about what was ahead of me for the next few months, and committed to just a half an hour each day. That's completely doable, and a solid compromise between my goal of being healthy, and the requirements of this training program. I may not have seen results as quickly as what I'm used to with my other workouts, but at least I would have seen some results.
Sometimes people can caught up looking for the fastest way to get somewhere - if that weren't the case, then there wouldn't headlines on magazines every day that promise a flatter belly in four weeks or something like that. Take a good look at your schedule and see what works best for you. Don't be afraid of it taking longer to get those results - just make sure that you get there!
